Tiffany Martens
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Are you carrying the weight of past experiences that feel too heavy to hold alone? I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, and identity exploration. Many of the people I support are moving through life transitions, processing complex trauma, or confronting patterns that no longer serve them—but aren’t sure where to begin.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational frameworks, meaning I’m curious about how early relationships and unconscious patterns shape your present-day emotional life. I pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship itself—how we interact, what gets stirred up, and what this might reveal. I also integrate person-centred and trauma-informed practices, honouring your lived experience and pacing with deep care and respect.
At the heart of my work is a belief that every person deserves a therapy space where they feel seen, safe, and supported. I bring warmth, curiosity, and authenticity into the room, and I hold space for complexity—both the pain and the resilience you carry. I work from an anti-oppressive, culturally responsive lens and welcome all aspects of your identity, including race, gender, sexuality, faith, and family history.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years working in community-based reproductive health, social work, and front-line care. These roles deepened my understanding of systemic barriers and helped me develop a grounded, harm-reduction approach to mental health. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies, a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, and a diploma in Assaulted Women and Children’s Counselling and Advocacy.
Whether you’re looking to process the past, navigate a current struggle, or deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, I’m here to walk alongside you.
